CREATIVE FLOW & STILLNESS.

We talk a lot about creative flow — but not enough about creative stillness.
Somewhere along the way, rest became something we have to 'earn'. A prize for persistent productivity!

But rest isn’t a reward. It’s part of the work. The pause between projects is where integrity re-roots. When the noise settles and you can finally hear your own voice again, those times often feel like magic. But rest shouldn't feel like such a well-earned treat. It should be part of our work-life pattern, our creative life, and our general life… built into our existence. Otherwise, we risk life becoming just that: Existence. And nothing more.
Believe me, as someone who doesn't always take this advice on board, I know how easy it is to become completely run down and burnt out. And this is no good for anyone. It's especially not good for you, yourself.
Every time I stop and rest properly, I find that when I return to my creative work, it's somehow quieter, but clearer. The edges soften. The purpose sharpens. And I can see - so clearly - a path or a way or an answer that I couldn't see before.
Stopping doesn’t mean you’ve lost momentum. It means you’re giving your creativity space to breathe.

So if you’re in between things right now - a draft, a show, a season, a version of yourself - let the stillness do its work. Take the pause.
The world will still be here when you come back. And the best part, you’ll bring more of yourself back to the world with you.
Be kind. To others. And to yourself. xx
